Week Nine: Weary, Wanting Women

"Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the deer's;
he makes me tread on my high places." (3:17-19, ESV)
What are you waiting on? In this chapter, we learn about several different women who are waiting to have a child. Some of them have waiting for a very long time, and their hopes are failing.
As you study chapter nine, keep these questions in mind:
How can we wait with hope?
What does God's word teach us about how waiting transforms us?
How does God meet us in the midst of deferred hope, unmet expectations and delayed dreams?
Has God ever used months (or years) of unanswered prayers or frustrated plans to teach you something? If so, what was it? If not, will you be willing to allow Him to do that in the future?
We are praying for you as you continue to dive into the depths of God's word. If you earnestly seek Him, He will meet you.
