"For the Lord gives wisdom, from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."
Pro 2:6
There is a place where river rocks lie beneath thick ice and rolling rapids, where the aspen

leaves glisten like jewels in the sunlight’s stream. I look out at the snow-capped mountains where the elk roam and feed along the dark valleys. The land is vast, and the elk are regal. The bull raises its head toward the heavens. His muscles flex as his rack stands tall, like a great crown. He is strong. He is powerful.
The wild goats dance on top of large boulders. They stand against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, again, without any worry of their own. They are free to roam as they please, bouncing from hilltop to spring. And though harsh winds blow, and thunder rumbles, they do not fear because they know who controls the morning or shows the dawn its place. They have seen the one who creates the drops of dew and where the ice is born. They revere the one who brings forth the frost.

He sits on his throne, and the rocks and trees cry out to him.
Who provides this wisdom? Who knows how to count the clouds? The eagle soars at his command and builds its nest high above. It dwells on a cliff and remains there at night: a rocky crag is its stronghold. Who grants them this wisdom to escape danger and boldly face the blue sky?
As I gaze at this earthly beauty, I am reminded that I know nothing and am but a speck in his eyes. And though I feel so insignificant, I am reminded that "the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones" (Proverbs 2:6-8). I am granted wisdom from God for no other reason than he wants to give it so that I might understand what is right and fair--for every good path I take.
May we all strive to fill our hearts with God's wisdom, perhaps then, our paths might not be so difficult.
